Am profitat de cerul senin de la mijlocul toamnei și am punctat spectral câteva ținte celeste. Mă interesau în mod deosebit stelele Betelgeuse și Rigel, dar mai aveam nevoie și de stele de calibrare din zona lor.

Pentru a avea spectre de calitate am refăcut setup-ul, prin repoziționarea mai bună a elementului central din Alpy600 față de senzor, o focusare mai bună a imaginii pe camera principală și pe cea de ghidaj. În plus am avut grijă să aliniez fanta de ghidaj cu axa RA pentru o evoluție naturală a țintei în cadrul sesiunii de colectare a spectrelor.

Ca stele de calibrare am descoperit Alpheratz și Sheratan. Pe lângă Betelgeuse și Rigel, cu Alpy 600 am mai vizat și Capella, Hamal, Mirach, Aldebaran, Belatrix și Elnath.

După procesare am trimis la AAVSO (American Association of Variable Star Observers) spectrele BETELGEUSE, RIGEL, ARCTURUS (procesat în luna august) și HAMAL. Au fost verificate și validate, iar acum pot fi utilizate și de alți pasionați de spectroscopie astronomică. Interesant este că spectrul HAMAL a fost descărcat de cinci ori în două zile.

Am inclus în prezentare spectrele validate Betelgeuse și Rigel, așa cum apar ele pe site-ul AAVSO.

WANDRING WITH THE ALPY 600 IN THE SKY

Taking advantage of the clear mid-autumn sky, I spectrally targeted several celestial objects. I was particularly interested in the stars Betelgeuse and Rigel, but I also needed calibration stars from their vicinity.

To obtain high-quality spectra, I reconfigured the setup by improving the positioning of the central element of the Alpy600 relative to the sensor, achieving better image focus on both the main and guide cameras. Furthermore, I took care to align the guide slit with the Right Ascension (RA) axis to ensure the target’s natural drift during the spectral data collection session.

I identified Alpheratz and Sheratan as suitable calibration stars. In addition to Betelgeuse and Rigel, I also targeted Capella, Hamal, Mirach, Aldebaran, Bellatrix, and Elnath with the Alpy600.

After processing, I submitted the spectra for BETELGEUSE, RIGEL, ARCTURUS (processed in August), and HAMAL to the AAVSO (American Association of Variable Star Observers). They were verified and validated and are now available for use by other enthusiasts of astronomical spectroscopy. Interestingly, the HAMAL spectrum was downloaded five times within two days.
